What is this medication used for B.N.P. with HC is an ophthalmic antibiotic and corticosteroid containing bacitracin, neomycin sulfate, polymyxin B sulfate and hydrocortisone. It is used for
acute and chronic conjunctivitis when due to organisms susceptible to the antibiotics contained in the ointment.
Availability B.N.P. with HC Ophthalmic is a prescription medication available as an eye ointment.
How this medicine should be used B.N.P. Ophthalmic ointment is FDA approved for use in dogs and cats. The usual dose is to apply a thin film over the cornea 3 or 4 times a day.
What are the side effects Side
effects of B.N.P. with hydrocortisone ophthalmic ointment may include itching, burning, or inflammation in animals sensitive to this product.
What special precautions are there B.N.P. with hydrocortisone ophthalmic ointment should not be used in animals allergic to it. Do not allow the applicator tip to become contaminated during the
application of the ointment. Do not use this medication when there is a fungal or viral infection in the eye. Prolonged use of this medication may result in superinfection caused by nonsusceptible organisms.
